crown root (PO:0000043)- proposed def: "A nodal root formed at the crown of the plant (as in corn where the crown is below the soil surface)." [TAIR:ki] comment: Definition changed to eliminate adventitious. This is still within the sense of the TAIR definition. is_a: PO:0003005 ! nodal root
